Buffy The Vampire stars reunite after 20 years - their cute poses are a must-see

Buffy The Vampire Slayer concluded 20 years ago but the cast has remained friends as Sarah Michelle Gellar recently united with her co-stars.

It’s been over two decades since Buffy The Vampire Slayer aired on TV yet it has remained a cult classic. As one of the first supernatural series, the drama-comedy developed a loyal following in the late 1990s and early 2000s, paving the way for its spinoff Angel, and the witchy drama Charmed.

The Buffy cast did not make an appearance at 90’s Con in Tampa Bay, Florida earlier this month, but they’ve just given fans a hit of nostalgia as they reunited at a concert.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer cast reunion has fans ‘obsessed’

On Monday, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who portrayed the titular Buffy Summers, uploaded four Instagram photos of the cast mates at an Ed Sheeran concert.

Sarah attended the show with her daughter, Charlotte Grace, in honor of her 14th birthday, but it seems like the actress invited several of her famous friends.

Seth Green, Emma Caulfield, and their respective partners were all smiles as they posed for Sarah’s snaps. Green is best known as Buffy’s Oz, the teen guitarist, and boyfriend of Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan). Caulfield played Anya Jenkin the former demon.

“Her [Charlotte’s] guest list may not have been what you expected. Also, I really love these people,” Gellar captioned.

Caulfield commented: “The best night. Love everyone so hard.”

She also shared an additional photo of the cast with Sheeran. Referring to their characters, she wrote, “A slayer, a demon, a werewolf, and a bard walked into a bar…”

The unexpected reunion has Buffy fans ecstatic as they beg for an official TV special – or even perhaps a reboot.

“My little Buffy heart cannot take this,” a fan wrote.

A second similarly added: “Omg Buffy, Oz, and Anya. This made me so happy.”

“I know you can’t mention Buffy right now but I’ll do it for you. Buffy reunion for the win,” another commented. The fan is likely referring to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike which prohibits actors from promoting projects they have already filmed, but Buffy is over 20 years old so she should be allowed to discuss old productions.

Sarah Michelle Gellar shuts down Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot rumors

So will new episodes ever be on the cards? Well, there is still no confirmation and there has been no discussion since TV executive Gail Berman, who helped Joss Whedon transform the franchise from a movie to a hit TV series, admitted that she’s simply waiting for Whedon to sign onto the project.

But don’t expect Sarah Michelle Gellar to return; in January 2023, the 46-year-old actress shut down any rumors of her reprising the famous slayer.

“I am very proud of the show that we created and it doesn’t need to be done,” Gellar said. “We wrapped that up.”

“I am all for them continuing the story because there’s the story of female empowerment,” Gellar told SFX Magazine (via Movieweb). “I love the way the show was left: ‘Every girl who has the power can have the power.’ It’s set up perfectly for someone else to have the power. But like I said, the metaphors of ‘Buffy’ were the horrors of adolescence. I think I look young, but I am not an adolescent.”
